SIDC FORECAST (valid from 1230UT, 26 Jan 2012 until 28 Jan 2012)
SOLAR FLARES  : Active (M-class flares expected, probability >= 50%)
GEOMAGNETISM  : Active conditions expected (A>=20 or K=4)
SOLAR PROTONS : Proton event in progress (>10 MeV)
PREDICTIONS FOR 26 Jan 2012  10CM FLUX: 125 / AP: 006
PREDICTIONS FOR 27 Jan 2012  10CM FLUX: 121 / AP: 020
PREDICTIONS FOR 28 Jan 2012  10CM FLUX: 121 / AP: 011
COMMENT: Solar activity is expected to be active with risks of M class
flares from NOAA AR 1402. It produced a series of C class flares on Jan.
26, including a long duration event (C6.4, 0542UT peak time),
accompanied with a partial halo CME observed on both COR2 coronagraphs
on STEREO and with LASCO onboard SOHO. This event is not expected to
trigger any significant geomagnetic disturbance. Geomagnetic activity is
expected to be active by the end of Jan. 27 due to a coronal hole
becoming geoeffective. Current solar wind conditions are quiet.
